A non-profit group says that a charity doctor, a traveler, and a third man who hasn't been named are "being well-treated" while the UK foreign office tries to get in touch with them.

A UK non-profit says that three British men, including a charity worker, are being held by the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the UK foreign ministry says it is working to get in touch with them.

The foreign office said in a statement released on Saturday that it was helping their families.

The Presidium Network said that it is helping two of the detainees: 53-year-old volunteer doctor Kevin Cornwell and a man whose name is not being used.

It also confirmed that the third man is Miles Routledge, a 23-year-old British tourist who got a lot of attention and criticism on social media in August 2021 for going on vacation to Afghanistan after the US-led foreign forces left the country and the Taliban took over.

Scott Richards of the Presidium Network told Sky News in the UK, "We think they are healthy and getting good care." "We have no reason to think they've been treated badly, like tortured, and we're told they're as good as can be expected in these conditions."

He said that there had been "no meaningful contact" between the police and the two men Presidium is helping. He also said that the men were arrested because of a misunderstanding about a licensed gun in Cornwell's room.

The Taliban secret police arrested the two men that Presidium was helping on January 11.

No one seems to know how long Routledge has been held.

Suella Braverman, the UK Home Secretary, told Sky News, "Anyone going to dangerous parts of the world should be very careful." "If they're going to do that, they should always follow what the Foreign Office says about travel."

"If there are risks to people's safety abroad and they are British citizens, the UK government will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. The government is in talks and working hard to make sure people are safe.

The Taliban released a veteran TV cameraman and four other British people they had been holding for six months last year.

Channel tv  jazeera  asked the Taliban for a comment, but at the time of publication, they had not replied.
