The French federation (FFF) announced on Thursday that Herve Renard will be the France women's coach until 2024. He will lead the team at this year's World Cup.
The Frenchman, who is 54 years old, quit as coach of the Saudi Arabia men's team this week. He led them to last year's World Cup in Qatar, where they shocked everyone by beating the eventual champions, Argentina, in the group stage.
During his presentation on Friday, Renard will show the teams that will play France's next two friendlies. On April 7, they play Colombia, and on April 11, they play Canada, which is the current Olympic champion.

This month, the FFF fired Corinne Diacre after the captain, Wendie Renard, said she wouldn't play in the World Cup if Diacre was still in charge.
France, which is ranked fifth in the world, will try to win its first World Cup at this year's big event, which runs from July 20 to August 11. 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
Renard said that he thought he had taken Saudi Arabia as far as he could after a 2-1 friendly loss to Bolivia in Jeddah last week.
In 2012, Zambia shocked everyone by beating Ivory Coast in the final of the African Nations Cup. Renard was a big part of that win.
Three years later, he led Ivory Coast to its second continental title by beating Ghana in the final. He was the first coach to win the title with two different teams.
Wendie Renard's announcement that she wouldn't play in this year's World Cup to protect her mental health made Diacre's job impossible.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani, who were also on the national team, soon said they were stepping back from the team.
Many people think that Wendie Renard is one of the best defenders in women's football. Last month, she played for France against Norway, Denmark, and Uruguay.
After France lost in the quarterfinals of Euro 2017, Diacre took away her role as captain. She got it back in 2021.
At last year's European Championship in England, Diacre was also criticized for leaving out senior players Amandine Henry and Eugenie Le Sommer, who was their all-time leading scorer.
